Family: Are they good or bad?
Noriaki's family is seen all of once in the story, and briefly at that. Using his interactions with others as possible evidence, fans have construed numerous interpretations of his parents that neatly fall under two categories: warm or cold. The latter rides on the argument that Noriaki appears touched at Jotaro and Holly's (Jotaro's mother) kindness shortly after his debut, suggesting that his relationship with his own parents may be strained.
However, I believe that Noriaki hails from a good family. His reaction to kindness from the Kujo family can trace back to these key facts: He's socially awkward due to his habit of keeping everyone at an arm's distance, and this is the first neutral party he has encountered who also tout Stands. Finally, after his botched meeting with DIO, Noriaki has met others with whom he can relate. His life has taken a drastic turn, and he's beyond touched to tears.
Regarding his family, "both parents are well; however, they treated the abrupt trip to Egypt as a sign of him running away [and] are very shocked" (ch. 20, "The Devil - Part 1").
Throughout Stardust Crusaders, not once does Noriaki refer to his parents with a tone of disdain. In fact, he's apologetic for worrying them by leaving without a word. More telling of the nature of his relationship with his parents are the subtle signs that indicate he is quite spoiled, as he goes on international family vacations and sinks many hours playing video games in an era when they aren't as widespread as now. Evidently, Noriaki's parents provide diligently for him, perhaps more so than the norm to compensate for his friendless circumstance – no matter how difficult they find it to understand their son.
While there's a gap between Noriaki and his parents due to Hierophant Green, they are on each other's mind. That fact alone speaks volumes about their potential bond.
