Was it love at first sight?

My first exposure to the anime of JoJo and the characters of Stardust Crusaders was this Brave Frontier parody video. It's funny even if you aren't familiar with either title. But it was not love at first sight with the show or the characters, and more "this is exactly how I imagined JoJo would be" once the video ended.

Early in 2017, a friend recommended the series to me. As much as I adored Joseph from Battle Tendency, Stardust Crusaders was where I found a favorite character, and pretty fast to boot. Maybe it was love at second sight! His hair noodle is distracting at first.

Noriaki is a character type that I enjoy and admire – he's sensitive, studious, and paradoxically insecure with a dash of vanity. I love that most of his development is achieved internally with minimal flair. Ever reticent, Noriaki doesn't air his baggage and shows that there's depth to be found in those who don't voice their struggles, which I admit means a lot to me. It didn't take long for me to get attached, and things spiraled out of control from there.

He's also petty toward evil babies, and I find that way funnier than I should. JoJo is the only story where "the baby started it" is a legitimate excuse.

What's with this section's title? I don't know. I made the layout late at night and wasn't thinking clearly. I'm already regretting everything.

The Hierophant was a simple project, started and finished in one day as an outlet for my strong feelings on the subject matter. In order to inform newcomers to the franchise without spoiling the experience of discovering the story for themselves, I kept most details vague and introduced certain facets that would highlight his character (all based on my interpretation of events, of course). Noriaki will forever and always be my favorite JoJo character, and I needed an excuse to write about him.
